I have chosen the policies based on meritocracy, which means awarding the talented n those industrious citizens so as to encourage them to do even better in future.

Overview of Arts Awards
The Council currently gives out the following awards in the various areas:
Artistic Excellence
Cultural Medallion
Young Artist Award
Arts Partnership
Patron of the Arts Award
Patron of the Arts Award Implementing arts practices and programmes in the education curriculum
National Arts Education Award

We can all see that the Singapore Government has made an noticeable effort to recognise artistic excellence and contributions to the promotion and development of the arts in Singapore. Singapore arts might not be popular around the globe now but through the government's effort, i believe it wun be long before singapore arts will become popular like those of the Italian's or French's.
Below are some examples of awards the government came up with to encourage those with talenbt to future excel....
Cultural Medallion
The Cultural Medallion was instituted in March 1979 as an initiative of our late President, Mr Ong Teng Cheong. The award recognises individuals who have attained artistic excellence in their respective artistic fields. It is conferred by the President, Republic of Singapore and is administered by NAC.
Young Artist Award
The Young Artist Award was introduced in 1992 to encourage the development of young artistic talents in Singapore. The award is accorded to young artists who have shown promise of artistic excellence in their repective artistic fields.
Patron of the Arts Award
Each year, in appreciation of the contributions made by sponsors towards the promotion and organisation of artistic activities, NAC recommends organisations and individuals for conferment of the Patron of the Arts Award, by the Minister for Information, Communication and The Arts. The Arts Supporter Award was launched in 2000 to give recognition to companies and individuals who contributed to a lesser, but no less significant, extent to the Singapore arts scene. With this award, the NAC hopes to encourage new people and companies at the community level to come forward and support the arts. This will help forge closer links between the arts and the community and expand the pool of sponsors for the arts.
National Arts Education Awards
The NAE Award is a national arts award for schools in Singapore. The National Arts Council (NAC) presents this Award annually to
· recognise schools that provide opportunities for all students to be involved and show excellence in the arts;
· encourage and reward schools with good arts practices and programmes.
Such schools adopt a coherent and integrated approach that seeks to achieve the goals of their arts programmes. They are committed to the processes which sustain achievements in the arts.

The NAE Award Criteria is based on the Arts Education Evaluation Framework, developed by the Curriculum Planning and Development Division, Ministry of Education (MOE).

The award categories are as follows:
· Gold Award - $10,000, trophy and certificate
· Silver Award - $3,000, trophy and certificate
· Bronze Award - $1,000, trophy and certificate

8:35 PM HELLO WORLD.

well. i feel like blogging today.
i had a tiring day..went out the whole day.
firstly to our sch's open hse and then went to a softball carnival..
we played against adult. and disappointedly,we lost both the matches we played.
we could have won.
and on the way back home,i board a bus without knowing tt i didnt bring my ezlink.
i just scan with my wallet,and thought that the card is inside.therefore..i got a freeride.
but i had to take any bus to get home,but i dun have coins. Miss zarinah offered me some coins..thanks again.
eh..something interesting happened after i sat down on the sit to wait for bus...
a middle-aged women came to me with some coins and she, unexpectedly,said she wants me to have it.of course i shook my head n says 'no,thanks'
i was rather surprised that such species still exist in tis world.
we should hold her in high esteem as a singaporean..

thats all. rather down recently.i need u.
